Well I apologize to anyone who cares for my neglect of my blog duties. I have an excuse for my absence, I was working hard on school work that just refused to go away. Truthfully I really don’t have an excuse when I’m standing next to Nathan who has had a much harder time then I have lately. Anyway this latest work is the conclusion of our latest storyline. If I remember correctly it was very enjoyable to write so hopefully it will turn out good and all.
Moving on, something very important will occur on February 6Th. The movie Coraline appears in theaters on the 6Th and I am going to see it on opening night. Lets just say that one of my family members was involved in the making of this film and I am interested in seeing their name in the credits. I don’t want to see it for this reason alone but it is the reason I want to see it on opening night. In all honesty the movie looks really good and I’m a bit of a movie enthusiast so I try to see any film I think has potential. Nathan doesn’t always agree with my movie preferences and most of the time he tries his best to ruin my self esteem by telling my that my movie recommendations have been poor. He gives me the most grief over my endorsement of the film 30 days of night as a movie he would enjoy. I was wrong and it turned out that he didn’t enjoy it at all. He tells me that it is one of the worst movies he’s ever seen. I didn’t love the film but I didn’t hate it ether, Nathan has never trusted me since.
To make this fair I will now break down one of Nathans all time favorites. I have been told that Kill Bill is one of the most awesome films ever made. I must sadly disagree. It isn’t bad mind you but it isn’t a masterpiece. when I was watching it I was told every time I expressed any doubt that the movie was “highly stylised” and that this fact excused any abnormalities. In the end the stile was one of the few things I could appreciate. The style was well defined and interesting but the movie itself lacked a core rhythm. These days you can defend the integrity of almost anything by saying that represents a form of creative art. When in reality just because something is different doesn’t make it better, just original. Originality is a step in the right direction but how big this step is rests mostly on personal opinion. To me it is seemed like it was just trying a little to hard to be unique and original while other elements of depth were given little room to work comfortably. As I said before the Kill Bill isn’t bad, its just a little dysfunctional. If it makes you Kill Bill fan boys out there feel any better, I had a much better time watching the Kill Bill’s than Failure to Launch.
