The Following Images . . .

. . . should probably not be read in public. A mere glance at the comic could be mistaken for something far more sinister.

The Pillow has only appeared in the comic four times before, and each time he appears, readers delight in it. We’re still not quite sure what the Pillow is, what his motivations are, or how the world perceives him, so each time we unravel a bit more of his character.  I honestly am very curious what he will be up to the next time.

I did not attend Sakura-con, as some kind of social experiment as I had originally planned. I saw that the folks running the show expected me to fork over $30 for a Sunday pass, and considering that I was really only going to go there for a Penny Arcade poster, I decided against it. Oh well, there’s always another time, but probably not.

In other news, after reading the graphic novel, “Necronomicon,” I found myself seized by a strange kind of “Cthulhu fever,” where I crave anything “Cthulhu.” In less than a week I have purchased the roleplaying game “Call of Cthulhu,” as well as the Xbox game, “Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth.” I downloaded an app for my iPod Touch called “Stanza,” which lets me read most of Lovecraft’s stories for free. I have thus far read the “Call of Cthulhu,” which I enjoyed immensely, and am now consuming “The Mountains of Madness.” This is an incredibly new world of literary adventure for me, and I am absolutely intoxicated by the wealth this universe has to offer.

I have officially sunk back into World of Warcraft, which is an odd experience. I avoided it for years, repulsed and despised by even the notion of trying the thing, quite simply out of fear of the life-destroying addiction it would form. Sometime after PAX, I popped in the WoW 10 day trial to pass the time during an  extended hospital stay. After reaching the limits of the trial, I decided to invest in the full product.

I milked enjoyment from it, but never found myself playing uncontrollably. I was so unaddicted, that when  my time ran out I just never renewed it.

Lately I have been craving it, for some unknown reason. I am not exactly sure why I am so powerfully drawn back into the product, but the idea of soloing again held me back. This time, though, I managed to hook my dad up with a trial key and get him started, thus creating some familiar company. I basically follow him around and protect him from some of the bigger monsters, while helping him level up. It’s repetitive and slow, but I am enjoying myself immensely.

This post is a bit shorter than usual, and for that I apologize. I’m feeling a bit slow tonight, but I’ll try and be on top of my game next time. (Did I even use that expression correctly?)

Pillow is a bizzare creature, the pants on the head thing is adorable by itself, but terrifying given pillow’s former sisnister context… perhaps in the wattersonian style only tim can see pillow for what it truly is? Is it more ambiguous than that? or perhaps, just perhaps it’s simply tims sleep (y/less) brain and I’m reading way to much into it. Perhaps perhaps, *strokes chin thoughtfully, musing off into the distance*
