And on this Wednesday, the 289th day of the year 2008, the third part in the rich and epic tale has been unvealed, and with it, the glimmer of an answer.
Exciting news. You know “Crap Weeks?” Next week is the last one! And better yet, this week’s comic was originally going to be eight panels long, but I had miscalculated the date this story arc would end on, so I needed to make it a week longer (for reasons that you will find out). So I sliced the comic in half, reworked a bit of the dialog and bad-ding! A pretty easy comic for Crap Week! (It is all drawn and colored, just need to insert dialog and backgrounds.)
Update on the new website! It is coming along quite nicely, and I have been provided with a sample site so that I can go check it out regularly to see how things are coming along. I think it is looking quite slick, and Natalie (the woman who is building my site) has done some really cool extra things that increase the site’s awesomeness. I am really excited to get to show you guys. I will be sure to link to her site when the new one is up, since if you need a site built, she is your lady.
Also, this current host expires on October 20th. I don’t know if they throw me off their server immediately, or give me some time to throw more money at them before they boot me off. Natalie suggests that the majority of the site should be functional by then, so hopefully it shouldn’t be an issue. I still own the gamercandycomic.com domain name for two more years, and I am going to start working on setting it up to redirect to the new domain for “Good in Theory.” Just keep in mind that if you try and pop into the site sometime around the 20th or so and it is down, you’ll know why. Come back later and everything should be fixed.
My sources inform me that you have disregarded my advice, and not watched “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.” DO IT. You’ll like it. Even if you are thinking, “That doesn’t sound like something I would like.” You will. JUST GO WATCH IT!
I saw Religulous over the weekend when I went down to Portland to visit Noah. It’s from the director of “Borat,” so you just know that there is some serious promise there. I think that it is probably one of those movies that you will either love or hate, sort of like Borat. If you are not familiar with what the movie is about, and are too lazy to click on that link, it is basically a documentary starring a comedian named Bill Mahr and he goes around questioning religion and religion’s effects on society. I can appreciate his hard-hitting questions, and the film’s quite sharp sense of humor. It’s actually quite interesting to see people reacting to his questions, because none of them are unreasonable, and are actually quite well thought-out. While he does have his share of jabs at religion, I never felt like he was “vicious.” I saw him on the Colbert Report, and as he said, all he is saying is that he “doesn’t know.” This movie is definitely not for everyone, and you probably know whether or not it is right for you immediately. If you are still in the grey though, I can help you out.
-Do you believe in evolution? If you answered “no,” then do yourself a favor and don’t watch this movie.
-Did you like Borat? If you answered “no,” then do yourself a favor and don’t watch this movie.
-Do you like Bill Mahr? If you answered “no,” then do yourself a favor and don’t watch this movie.
I’m out of things to say for this post, I am writing it on Monday night since I am admitted tomorrow. I cannot trust myself on anti-nausea medication. I essentially have giant gaps in my memory, and have carried on long conversations and still have no recollection what I talked about. I don’t even trust my coding when I am hopped up like that, as I have checked in days later, when the drugs have cleared out of my system, to find that I have made terrible, terrible errors.
Until next week.
-Nathan
